Projected images are representations of three-dimensional objects on a plane. Projected means that prominent points and curves of a three-dimensional object are transferred to a plane by using imaginary rays. In technical illustration, orthogonal parallel projection is most commonly used. Here, the imaginary rays run parallel to each other and fall at right angles onto the display plane.
