Safety signs according to ISO 7010 (Update)
2020-08-10
ISO 7010 defines rescue, prohibition, mandatory, warning and fire safety signs and was published in 2012. The safety signs are based on the design criteria of the ISO 3864 series of standards. ISO 7010 was created in response to the internationalization of markets in order to convey uniform safety information in a few words or completely at the level of symbols. The aim of ISO 7010 is prevention of potential hazards to persons and the principle of one safety sign = one safety statement.
Safety signs are no substitute for the safe design of products or workplaces, proper working methods, comprehensible instructions and personal protective equipment.
